Sometimes you just want to lie in the grass, put on some music and make shapes with the clouds that effortlessly float above you.Next time you do this, put on Craft Spells new album “Idle Labor’. This lo-fi indie duo (yeh, another one) are from the US and began as a bedroom project in 2009 – this album brings with it a dreamy danceable sound with tastefully nostalgic lyrics (think New Order meets Air France). It’s a start to finish delight, with a couple of tracks deviating from the overall sound, offering a chirpy break, in what could otherwise be seen as an album of slight monotony. Your mum will nod her head in acceptance of this debut album, its 80s synth mixed with a genre she hasn’t heard of. Check it.
