GZA (Liquid Swords) x PHAROAHE MONCH x JEAN GRAE x RAHZEL – Metro Theatre, Sydney

Give it to me, right in the mouth.
It’s been announced that the GZA (WU) will be playing his gold (and rightly fucking so) album Liquid Swords in its entirety at the Metro Theatre on Saturday January 7 2012 and will be supported by non-other than Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae, Rahzel and DJ JS-1. If this lineup announcement isn’t enough to cause a severe creaming of the pants, then maybe the $44.00 price tag is enough to give you sad fucks something to smile about.
$44.00 or $100.00, to me seeing the Genius and Pharoahe on the same bill is bigger than seeing WU for the tenth time.
A few of you may have been around to see GZA perform Liquid Swords at the Metro a couple of years ago, which to me, was easily the best hip hop gig I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. Mainly because it was the whole album, and partially because the GZA’s delivery was perfect, even if a little static. Coupled with the fact that every Monch gig I’ve been to has been a bullshit experience, then yeah, this is going to be dynamite. Would it be beyond wishing for Monch to bring Prince Po?
The fact that Jean Grae and Rahzel have been thrown into the mix should see this as a super sellout affair.
Tickets are available TODAY through Metro & Ticketek.
Peace and love.
