History by the skateboarders who made it.
10 Percent is a man who is always in the loop, even with things he isn't as familiar with as much as others. If you can trick him and distract the conversation away from graffiti long enough, you will find an abundance of interesting information covering many aspects of life. I for one can definitely say I enjoyed his coverage of the recent Thrasher King of the Road competition, so when he first shared with us the beginning of a new series of interviews from the other side of the skateboarding magazine world, TransWorld, beginning at number 30 with Paul Rodriguez, I was extremely excited for what was in store. Unfortunately for my self and our wonderful readers, it would appear 10P has been a little too busy making magic happen for PRIMO! behind the scenes and in any spare time that he does have, probably watching River City for the 500th time on YouTube.
So it's time for me to step up and deliver you the goods. Number 29 of the TWS interview series is no other than the legendary Daewon Song. As a favourite skater of mine since way back, it's great to hear his thoughts on his career and inspirations (I think we are going to hear Rodney's name mentioned a lot throughout these interviews). The edit is filled with some great archival footage that I'm absolutely loving, especially because these are the videos I remember when I was younger and as far as the interviews, the skaters I idolised. For the record, he really was the king of the picnic table. I'm sensing a Rodney Vs. Daewon video night coming up. Scram crew, beers in my lounge room very soon!
Number 28 on the list is the ever charismatic Jason Dill. People less familiar with skating may recognise him as Jacks buddy from the reality TV show The Osbournes, but skaters will most likely mention things like his parts in Photosynthesis, amongst others. I found it really interesting to hear him speak about the health aspects and preserving the longevity of his career, mentioning that who I can only assume is Reynolds, is still throwing him self down huge sets of stairs. That's definitely one interview I cant wait for and I guarantee you he will be included.
Still waiting on part 2, but I will include it with number 27.
Enjoy!
