Newtown Flicks 2012

Get the inside out.
Now into its sixth consecutive year, the Newtown Flicks festival has once again opened its doors to Australia’s budding filmmakers. The festival is working toward ‘pre-eminent’ status in the field of indie short film festivals in Australia and, while it’s not quite Tropfest, the festival has attracted the support of several prominent personalities in the Australian film industry, including Academy Award winning director Bruce Beresford and Sydney Morning Herald film writer Garry Maddox.
The festival distributes several lucrative awards to the judges’ favourite entries, as well as an audience choice award. The winning films are collated into a touring DVD collection, the proceeds from whose sales go in part to the filmmakers. So basically, the upshot is if you have an ounce of creative vision and a video camera, and all you need now is a break, get rolling and submit your masterpieces.
Entries close 6 July 2012. Check out the call out clip here and go over there for more information.
