Never before has scary seemed so sweet.
Ana Diaz, one of Australia’s newest and most promising designers as heralded by the 2011 LMFF National Graduate Showcase, has emerged from the woods to bring us Misteria.
The designer’s AW12 collection is inspired by giallo, the Italian film and literature horror genre that burgeoned in the 1970s and was characterised by melodrama, mystery, murderers, and the beautiful women who played their victims. Typically, giallo films were a swirl of vivid purples, pinks, yellows and blues, and Diaz has combined this influence with 1970s silhouettes and her own modern design sensibilities to create a collection whose uniqueness wholly justifies the fashion world’s excitement at her emergence.
Lend a little mystery to your wardrobe and be your own leading lady with Diaz. A selection of Misteria is now available through Sportsgirl, via their Sportsgirls Love Diaz collection, and keep your eye on the Diaz website – online store coming soon.
