P. DIDDY & MISSY ELLIOT CANCELLED FOR SUPAFEST 2012

Guess you won’t be able to ‘get ur freak on’.

Just four days off the 2012 tour, Paperchase Touring and Entertainment just announced that both P. Diddy and Missy Elliot’s performances for this years Supafest have been cancelled.

“It is with great regret that Paperchase Touring and Entertainment announce that both P. Diddy and Missy Elliot’s performances at this year’s Supafest event will be cancelled. All other acts remain on the bill and are excited about coming to Australia to perform.”

Supafest’s organisers have alluded the cancellation is simply because they can’t afford them. In its third year, the event last year received world wide media acclaim which eventually put enormous pressure on the producers to make this years event bigger and better.

We’re hardly surprised, the line-up was huge and in no way will we stop supporting the franchise. The Supafest team have  previously brought us RnB/ Hip Hop line ups most of us wouldn’t have dreamed of seeing in Australia. Check out last years galleries here and here.

The ticket sales for Supafest 2012 have been reportedly been steady and look like they will surpass last years attendances of 90,000, but in effect these numbers fall well short of the producers expectations to ensure commercial viability. Consequently, this has forced them to slightly modify this year’s event to ensure that Supafest carries on in years to come.

The line-up is still out of control featuring our man Ice Cube, douchey Chris Brown, T Pain, Trey Songz, Kelly Rowland, Lupe, Rick Ross, Big Sean and Naughty by Nature.

Saturday April 14th, 2012 – Brisbane, RNA Showgrounds
Sunday April 15th, 2012 – Sydney, ANZ Stadium
Saturday April 21, 2012 – Melbourne
Sunday April 22nd – Perth, Joondalup Arena

We will still mourn bangers like these, though.
