Romance Was Born ‘BERSERKERGANG’ – Summer 2012 Presentation, Merecedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia

Luke Sales and Anna Plunket of ROMANCE WAS BORN, have well and truly opened Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Australia with their show this morning in Walsh Bay leaving Fashionistas and media going berserk.
At Pier 2, Walsh Bay Australia’s Fashion family assembled. Celebrities, Designers, Editors, Buyers and everyone in between exchanged air kisses and once-overed each other’s outfits. There were your stereotypically pretentious (I’d love to hyperlink here but that would be naughty… maybe tomorrow), but fashions big wigs were smiling ear to ear, exchanging sincere (sounding) compliments and having a giggle, which was nice.
The Show “Berserkergang”
Cue quintessentially 60’s tape of a train coming, and the show was under way. The first vixen (model) was in a monochrome ensemble with incredible fiery red hair and exaggerated brows… and then they all did.
What came next left me speechless and so happy. It was a fusion of what we’d expected: Marvel Comics inspired, what we know: the RWB silhouettes and what I didn’t expect: the translation to accessible street wear.
The colour palette borrowed from comics we devoured as children, some prints recognisable and others original representations of strong graphics, a subtle nod to tailoring with peplum here and a collared shirt there.
All in all? A cohesive collection that literally kicks-ass.
Stand out look? The Poison Ivy-esque green body suit combined with the Super hero armbands and that red hair. Holy Shit. Start saving your pennies, girlfriends.
Stay tuned for the KSUBI show tonight, friends.
And don’t use my photos without crediting. Because that’s rude.
