‘WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME?’

EASTPAK has unleashed its new 2012 campaign into the world, and onto the Internet. It is a celebration of the path less travelled – the new campaign inspires us to seek out new experiences, break new ground and invent new ways to enrich our lives and urban environments.

Just typing this makes me want to throw my 27” iMac at a brick wall and run nude into the horizon, never turning back – and I like my job.

When was the last time I did something for the first time? I can’t remember. Apart from drinking Vodka at 16 years old, which landed me in the local hospital after being pronounced dead by a fellow intoxicated minor. Or perhaps it was that run I went on once.

I spend much of my time reading motivational books, blogs about breaking free from the constraints of society and talk the ear off anyone who will listen to my endless dreams and aspirations but I’m never one to go balls in.

We all do it – dream, plan and we are always promising to do it “one day”. I never get round to it but the 2012 EASTPAK campaign has inspired me to give it another go. Reminding us of the things that truly inspire us, the things we live for and suggesting simple ways we can live more fulfilling lives.

Because life in the city is all about transformation and metamorphosis, invention and reinvention, evolution and revolution. The urban environment is in constant flux. You can either move with it, rebel against it or give it new meaning and direction.
