Sailor & I – Tough Love

Sailor & I have produced something really special in Tough Love, with some crazy good remixes to accompany it.

I hadn’t heard of these guys until Monday morning, when my inbox popped up with an email from Benji, notifying me of a Aril Brikha remix of this song, Tough Love. It blew me away, so ethereal, so emotional and so amazingly repeatable. When I find a song I really like, I put it on repeat for an hour, and really get into it. Well this hasn’t gone off repeat yet, and it’s Wednesday.

Hailing from Stockholm this independent band has released just 3 small EP’s, however its this latest track Tough Love that has caused quite the stir amongst both electronic and indie fans around the world.  The Tough Love EP, originally set for release Spring 2012, may be released a bit later in the year now after the groundswell of major labels sniffing around and flying out to meet the band after this track got leaked in February to become an overnight industry sensation.

The song runs loops around the idea that love is tough and hard to understand, the music is an intricate blend of strings, drums and of course that forever catchy chorus. However it wasn’t the original that first caught my ear, as stated earlier. The remix by Aril Brikha is pure bliss. Crisp snare drums and a refined synth loop carry you through the whole song, but its the fading in and out of the those soothing vocals that make this a real treat. Just listen, you’ll get it.

I’m waiting anxiously waiting for someone to play this out. Hope you enjoy.
