VIDEO: NAS ‘Daughters’

Nas gives us a glimpse into his private world with new video for ‘Daughters’. The clip features his 17-year-old daughter Destiny Jones, and retrospectively reflects on their relationship.
Filming from the P.O.V of Destiny was director Chris Robinsons idea – a man responsible for just about all rap/hip-hop videography, we’re talking Jay Z, Big Boi, Busta, Young Jeezy, Luda… the list goes on. “Right off the bat, he really loved the idea of P.O.V” Robinson told MTV.
“I think that this song for Nas is so personal, everything in the song is real, that he wanted to share this moment with his fans, with the world, and it was actually his suggestion,” Robinson revealed. “I was ready to cast someone, and he was real calm and said, ‘Hey, Dest is gonna be here, I think we need to keep it real.’ “
The track will appear on the Nas’ upcoming Life Is Good LP and perhaps should be mandatory listening for all fathers with teenage daughters. Despite Nas’ fame and fortune, there are certain elements of growing up that apply to every teenage girl – it probably would have helped my Dad.
New track or warning alarm for potential suitors? You decide.
