Review: We Rob Banks – The House of Gonzo
Posted on June 5, 2012 by Textbook
Late last month, I was lucky enough to interview Johnny Third from We Rob Banks, a rock band from Melbourne who recently released their debut EP, The House of Gonzo.
We Rob Banks first came together in 2010, and have since emerged quickly as up and coming Australian rock band for all to look out for.
Recorded at Electric Sun Studios and then mixed by James Paul Wisner, The House of Gonzo showcases the diversity and talent of We Rob Banks. With its alternative rock feel, the bands EP is definitely worth a listen.
Lead vocalist, Rebecca Hammond, clearly stand out on the EP with her amazing voice and choice of lyrics. As for the rest of the band that includes Daniel Anderson, Johnny Third and Jeremy Park, they do what they do best with their instrument of choice.
The EP is short and sweet with six tracks to enjoy. In addition, the EP’s first single, “Headlights”, has been given a video to go along with it, which has already been viewed over 10,000 times.
To take their EP to the next level, We Rob Banks will also be touring around Australia during June and July.
With all that said, We Rob Banks can be proud of The House of Gonzo, as it is certainly a solid debut project.
We Rob Banks’ The House of Gonzo can be digitally purchase on iTunes, and their Australian tour dates can be viewed here.
