Video: Hit-Boy – “Jay-Z Interview”

Posted on June 12, 2012 by Textbook

G.O.O.D. Music’s Hit-Boy has broadened his skill set as of late, moving away from producing to drop his debut rap single, “Jay-Z Interview.”

Hit-Boy, for those of you don’t know, produced “N****s In Paris,” Jay-Z and Kanye West’s extremely popular Watch The Throne joint. Most recently, however, he has produced such tracks as A$AP Rocky’s “Goldie” and Yeezy’s “Cold.”

With his already solid resume as a producer to back him up, Hit-Boy has now turned to rapping with ”Jay-Z Interview,” a track showcasing his lyrical talent for the first time. In addition, the debut single has been accompanied by a video produced by Jelani Fresh, beginning with footage of Jay-Z showing Hit-Boy some love on stage at a concert.

Switching from producer to rapper is certainly no easy task. That said, it is quite clear Hit-Boy has what it takes to do both, especially considering he has Kanye West in his corner.

Releasing “Jay-Z Interview” isn’t the only thing Hit-Boy has been up to. He also made a cameo appearance with the rest of the G.O.O.D. Music team in the “Mercy” video.

Whether he is producing or rapping, I think it is fair to say that Hit-Boy is one musically talented dude. No doubt he will be heavily involved with Cruel Summer, but until that G.O.O.D. Music project drops, enjoy “Jay-Z Interview” below.
