DJ Z-TRIP ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Niche Productions keep the good tours rollin’ in, with DJ Z-Trip set to make another Australian appearance this August.

I had the pleasure of seeing Z-Trip live in 2010, and I can tell you that this guy is the real deal. After witnessing Girl Talk at this years’ Big Day Out, the mash-up madness continues in 2012 with one of its’ pioneers returning for a series of club shows.

Although rooted in hip-hop, Z-Trip has collaborated with everyone from MSTRKRFT to Kasabian to LL Cool J to Datsik. This portfolio is indicative of his eclectic performances and wide range of influences, as well as his fanbase which spans across genres and generations.

Furthermore, he was also pivotal in the creative process of the videogame DJ Hero, as well as the recipient of ”America’s Best DJ Award” in DJ Times Magazine in 2009.

Keeping true to Z-Trip‘s ideology, his Sydney show will also feature the national final for the Red Bull Thre3style competition – where competitors will have to spin a minimum of three genres in 15 minutes. The winner will head to Chi-town for the world final later this year.

Unfortunately, the art of DJing has seemingly been a little lost in hip-hop, but dudes like Z-Trip are still keeping the element alive as truly skilled performers behind the decks. Catch him on one of the dates below:
