Sports: X Games LA 2012

It’s almost that time of the year again. Over 200 world class competitors will be hitting LA for the X Games.

Skateboarding, Motorcross, BMX and Rally car racing will be taking over downtown Los Angeles at LA Live this weekend. Unfortunately Shaun White isn’t participating as he hasn’t had a chance to practice which is a bit of a bummer but there’s going to be a tonne of sick dudes out there killing it on multiple modes of transport.

While we won’t see Shaun White, legends like Travis Pastrana, Carey Hart, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Garrett Reynolds, Jamie Bestwick and Bob Burnquist (among many others) will be on hand blow our minds.

With a tonne of awesome events going down, here’s some key ones to look out for:

Day 1: Moto X Freestyle Final

Day 2: BMX Street Final, Skateboard Big Air Final and Moto X Best Trick Final

Day 3: BMX and Skateboard Vert Finals

Day 4: Skateboard Street Finals and BMX Big Air Final

It all starts in two days so check back with PRIMO! as I’ll be there on the ground and will post some dailies… plus there’ll be wall to wall coverage on ESPN so don’t miss it. Sal Masekela will be back hosting for the 11th year and there’ll be a bunch of guest analysts including my man Tony Hawk … I wish he was on a board though!

In the mean time, pump up with some videos looking back at last years event. The battle for Vert Gold last year between Shaun White and Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Bob Burnquist getting the Gold in Big Air, some BMX elimination highlights and my personal favourite, then 14-year-old Mitchie Brusco landing a 900 during practice. We’re in for one hell of a weekend.
