ASTRAL PEOPLE PRESENT DARK SKY [UK] @ ONE22

Coming off the back of raging party at Good God that eventuated in Blawan and Pariah going B2b for 4hrs of eclectic musical bliss, Astral People are setting the bar one notch higher by bringing out the taste makers of our time, Dark Sky [Ninja Tune/UK].

With their debut  in 2008 with prolific dubstep label  Black Acre, Dark Sky have since ensured their legacy with releases on Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons label as well as Ninja Tune, Strictly Rhythm, Pictures Music and Blunted Robots.  Furthermore, they have remixed the likes of Ben Westbeech and The XX and names like Girl Unit, Claude Von Stroke, Bok Bok, Jamie XX and Benga are considered some of their biggest fans.

Dark Sky continue to bridge the disparity of modern dance music and strive to push the boundaries of what is considered to be contemporary and relevant dance music. The trio, otherwise known as Tom Edwards, Matt Benyayer and Carlo Anderson, have never restricted their style to any specific genre. Having an undeniable affiliation with garage, dubstep, techno and house, their style is subject to interpretation but will forever be unique and evolving.

To add further intrigue to the night, our gorgeous friends over at ASTRAL PEOPLE decided to let Sydney act, Cliques  join in on the fun. CLIQUES is the collaborative project of Sydney-based producers 48/4 and Hensen. Their deep and dark sound uniquely toys with the boundaries of sound design and in my opinion resemble such greats as Ras G and Clouds. This Sydney duets’ talent has not be missed by  the taste makers the world! most notably Oneman has been giving these guys some great air time on the one and only Rinse FM.

If Blawan and Pariah were anything to go by, you really don’t want to be that guy that missed the night of the year… That shit would just be awkward.
