‘notclver‘ is an inquisitive and complex artist out of LA that has been tinkering with music and sound from a tender age. His apathy reflects the emotions of a young generation struggling to find themselves, an apathy that is translated into a kind of into 9 tracks that make up the ‘Fathoms EP‘.

This gentle blend of Hip-hop, chillwave, lo-fi and instrumental beats induces it’s listener into a meditative state upon where you can truly enjoy this carefully composed journey. It’s a marriage of broken loops, airy synths and delicately placed percussion continually intrigues and entices you to continue listening for the full half hour journey.

Like many modern day artists of our generation, notclver incorporates art and film making to enhance the experience you undergo when enjoying this quaint display of creative expression. Watching this video actually calmed me down this morning and prevented me from killing the yappy dog next door that had been barking since 6am. If that doesn’t prove the quality of this tranquil piece of art, then what does?

As we wiggle our way out of the grasp of winter, the Fathoms EP reminds us that Summer [at least in Australia] is just around the corner. This is the soundtrack to your Saturday morning, that album you smoke to or even that album that gets you through a tough break up.

The simple yet concise execution of this body of work, ensures a final result that will stand the test of time. I surely hope that this talented artist continues on his bright path to success rather than fading into the obscurity of the internet. This L.A. native definitely deserves more publicity than he currently receives!
