Of the 119,064,202 plays of Jay Sean – Down ft Lil Wayne, at least 100,000 are mine. Needless to say, I’m keen for this tour.
Jay Sean’s first hit Down was one of the biggest selling songs of 2009. It sold 6 million copies, making him the most successful British/European male urban artist in US chart history. The ladies frothed. I frothed. The combination of lyrics that pull heart strings, combined with an uptempo beat and promises of eternal love cemented Jay Sean amongst chicks everywhere.
His follow up single Do You Remember went onto sell more than a million copies alone in the USA, and went Double Platinum in Australia. He went on to release 2012 (This Ain’t The End) featuring Nicki Minaj, and “Hit The Lights” which also topped the charts worldwide.
I know I said I was off YMCMB but hey, I’m a chick and talk isn’t cheap – I just want to be loved even if the sky is falling down. The guy has a song called Sex 101 with lyrics like “Sex 101, it’s one on one”. He’s fucking killing it.
I can just imagine the crowd he’ll pull: enthusiastic chicks who love him, random weird guys who enjoy love songs and bored boyfriends dragged along by aforementioned enthusiastic chicks.
