Gabriel Urist x Brooklyn Nets Jewellery Collection

What do you get when you mix the NBA with the third richest man in Russia and the biggest name in hip- hop?

The answer is quite simple: a $4.9 billion stadium and business complex, the word ‘Brooklyn’ added to your franchise name and Deron Williams.

I’m sure this is something most of you are already aware of and I’m also sure the Nets’ 22: 44 record last season speaks for itself (not to mention their longest streak being of six loses). So when Prokhorov and Mr. Z announced the new look, name and location of the franchise, I was quite pleased.

When Deron re-signed this year I was also quite pleased due to the possibility of Dwight going to the Nets. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never liked the Nets, after all New Jersey is just a shit version of New York, but the possibility of seeing Howard playing with a top 5 PG made my balls tingle.

And as fate would have it, Dwight signed with the Lakers.

I laughed. Nash,Dwight and Kobe! Oh, God daymn, it’s going to be a good season. Let’s not move away from the Nets…like Dwight.

I was always the first to laugh at the Nets, they reminded me of the Cleveland side after losing LeBron. However, a friend of mine would always tell me the nets will win a championship in the next five years.

I would laugh.

Then he would remind me of how rich Mikhal Prokhorov and Jay- Z are, and I would remind him this wasn’t the EPL.

I would never admit to him the Nets could actually pull out with a very, very good team if luck was on their side, and then they traded Jordan Farmar, Anthony Morrow, Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, DeShawn Stevenson and a 2013 first round draft pick for Joe Johnson.

I laughed once again, quite loudly and in my friend’s face.

However, I do have new found hopes for the Brooklyn franchise; if they can take out the title of being the best team in New York, they’ll be taken a lot more seriously and a lot more players will want to move in their direction. The Knicks vs Nets game’s on November 1st to kick off the regular season, let’s hope the Nets can find (I apologise for this in advance) ‘D- Will’ to win…

In honour of the new franchise I present to you a collection a silver of Brooklyn Nets jewelery. Gabriel Urist is no stranger to the NBA, or simply any people with lots of money to throw around. As the Brooklyn Nets get ready to kick off their first season as a new franchise, Urist has teamed up with them to produce this range of jewerly for the people of Brooklyn, and possibly any New Jersey traitors. The pieces include a Brooklyn Primary Signet ring, B Ball Signet ring, Brooklyn Medallion, Brooklyn Shield Double Pendant, and BK Wordmark Band. All are available on the new online store, Town of Basketball.

So remember, next time you see Nets and get ready to pay them out, don’t, because Jay- Z has a black strap and you know what that’s for.
