Lil Wayne Loves Skateboarding

It’s no secret that Lil Wayne is digging the whole skateboarding thing as of late. Instead of sipping on lean, smoking weed and constantly recording music, Weezy now seem to prefer skating and rocking his clothing line, Trukfit, while documenting his progress through the DEWeezy webisode series. Even when featuring in rap videos these days, he’s either skating around or flaunting his skateboard while spitting his verse.
I’ve got no beef with Weezy’s new passion. As a matter a fact, I’m all for this new hobby of his. I mean, he is still putting out music. Not nearly as frequently as before, but nonetheless, he still makes his way on most star-studded records that drop. And with his latest Gangsta Grillz mixtape, Dedication 4, coming next week, we will have more music to listen to from the once self-proclaimed ‘best rapper alive’.
Dedication 4 was supposed to drop yesterday, but with 2 Chainz’s debut album, Based On a T.R.U. Story, dropping, it was push back to next week. Weezy did, however, give us a track off the mixtape, which is fittingly a freestyle over 2 Chainz’s “No Lie” joint.
In addition, the cover art for Dedication 4 also hit the web, and as expected, involves a Trukfit-like cartoon Lil Wayne holding a skateboard.
“I really found a second love,” said Lil Wayne in episode 2 of DEWeezy. “Music is in trouble. Because I’m in love with this skateboarding shit, and I would not lie to you.”
Clearly, Weezy thoroughly enjoys skating. Let’s just hope he doesn’t quit the rap game entirely. I’m not the hugest fan of Lil Wayne (I used to be), but I still like to listen to him every now and again. He is only 29 remember, and hey, what would happen to all the club banging tracks that need a verse from him?
Maybe Waka Flocka Flame can fill his spot… He’s already got the long dreads. Waka’s ab-libs are amazing, too – a statement Ladies&Gentleman and OneEightKevin will surely co-sign.
