As you would have seen all over the media this week, Oklahoma was hit by a devastating tornado. The tornato caused absolute chaos through Moore, damaging and destroying many homes, as lives were even more tragically lost during the disaster.

To offer some much needed support, NBA superstar and Oklahoma City Thunder forward, Kevin Durant, has donated $1 million to the Oklahoma tornado disaster relief fund. The Thunder also announced a donation of $1 million and so has the NBA and players’ union.

“I call Oklahoma City my home. I go through Moore all the time. It’s unfortunate. We’re going to come together as a city like we always do and we’re going to bounce back,” said Durant. “It was tough to see.”

Durant has been playing in Oklahoma for the last five seasons after the team moved from Settle once his rookie year came to an end. While in Oklahoma, Durant has been to the NBA playoffs four times and has played in the finals once, as well making the Western Conference All-Star team each playoff bound season and winning the NBA’s scoring title on three occasions.

Although the Thunder made a somewhat early exit from the playoffs in a second round series loss to the San Antonio Spurs this year (without Russell Westbrook, who was injured), Durant has clearly given the city of Oklahoma much to be excited about, and will no doubt continue to do so as he remains a member of the Thunder.

Once more, shout out to Kevin Durant, and prayers to Oklahoma and everyone battling tough times over there.

Nike SB pro rider professional Justin Brock, HUD team rider Dan Plunkett and Atlanta lord Pat McClain have lived that dream, venturing out to an abandoned waterpark to skate a full pipe, absolutely destroying it for a Thrasher feature. Although the moves performed may not be your hardflips, 360 switch flips,  or any really crazy technical that you would normally see on the street by lords like Shane O’Neill, Eric Koston or Mickey Mendoza (shout outs), you need to understand to magnitude at what they are doing what where they are doing it. Think about how large waterparks are, and how sometimes daunting they are. Impressive as all hell now, right?

With tricks that are normally reserved for a perfectly build half pipe, Justin Brock absolutely owns this. The control and sheer balls of steel he shows in this video make for a pretty impressive and awe-aspiring video.

They seriously should just abandon more of these so that we can get more pro’s out making videos. Can you imagine BMX riders taking on this kind of stuff? I can see BigLily and DatPrettyLizard frothing at the mouth just thinking about it.

Grantland, who has a series called Story Time with Jalen Rose’, is back with their latest instalment, where they recount Jalen’s experience of when he played against a Wizards-era Jordan. As Jalen was a young buck back when Jordan was playing for the Bulls and winning all those championships, Rose found himself hating them passionately.

Being a Detroit native, this kind of hatred was to be expected, so when Rose got the chance to play Jordan, even though he was way over the hill, he not only rose up to the challenge of playing against him, but went a little overboard in the process.

If you don’t already know, Jordan is one of the most competitive personalities on the planet. Chances are after watching this video, it will become his new mission in life to get Rose back for making him look bad, even if it was in jest. Did you happen to catch his Hall Of Fame speech? That shit is the perfect example of just how much of an animal he is.

Heat v Bulls: Rest In Peace 2012-13 Chicago Bulls. Streak breaker. Beloved underdog. Biggest heart in the league… After getting their butts kicked in Game 2 I prayed things would turn around in Game 3. Bulls almost got there too. Scared the pants off a lot of Heat fans by sticking with Miami most of the game until being undermanned and fatigued forced the Bulls into turnovers and missed shots to cost them the game. That’s when it was done. Game 4 was just brutal. See you next year Chicago. I’ll still watch game 5. I wanna see Noah cry. I really do…. I predicted Heat in 6. Too bad it’ll be sooner.

Pacers v Knicks: The most underwhelming series of this round, I’m not at all surprised the Knicks are sucking since their streaky shooters and ONLY offense Melo and JR can’t find the rim anymore. It has been a pleasant surprise watching the Pacers smash mouth style of basketball though. I didn’t watch a game of theirs all year because I figured their defence and big man game was boring. As it turns out, they’re pretty fuckin’ good. Not only do they have the best defence in the league but according to Grantland’s Zach Lowe, statistically this is one of the best 10-15 defences in NBA history. I love sentences that end in “… in NBA history”. They get me hard. I predicted Pacers in 6. Fingers crossed.

Thunder v Grizzlies: Oh man, I’m so disappointed. I really wanted KD to go historic on the Grizzlies. They’re down 3-1 after having an early 17 point lead in game 4 which they let slip away. KD had a very inefficient 27 off 10-27 shooting. As someone who loves to ride KD’s success, it was another painful loss. On the bright side, I love Marc Gasol. Have you seen the new memes? Go on, I’ll give you a sec… Ok, how the hell does this guy win defensive player of the year but only gets into the All Defensive Second Team? ARE YOU SERIOUS? HE LITERALLY IS ABLE TO GIVE 110%! My Thunder in 7 prediction was totally biased and will be totally wrong. Also, fuck off Derek Fisher.

Spurs v Warriors: This series has been AMAZING. Warriors are a fun team to watch but I never would’ve imagined this being the best series so far in the playoffs. Two overtime games. Parker, Mr. Fundamental, Steph, Klay Thompson and Andrew FUCKING Bogut! You do realise he won game 4 right? Huge rebounds and defence on Duncan. Did you see how shit the Warriors were on the floor with Ezeli and/or Biedrins (I’m not even checking how to spell their names. They don’t deserve it.) Also, has anyone noticed that Popovich isn’t phoning in those quarter time interviews anymore? I’ll tell you what happened, the person interviewing Pop actually has intelligent questions that warrant intelligent answers. Can you blame Pop for hating those things when the questions usually are “You didn’t shoot well the last quarter, what are you going to do to shoot better?”. I picked the Spurs in 6. Still possible. Game 5 tonight is huge. If the Spurs get up the series is theirs. Warriors can’t afford to lose this game considering how much is riding on Steph’s shaky ankles without Lee in there… Please though, for the love of god, can we plus have a 7 game series? I need me some more Steph. If the Spurs win, can he play for the Spurs in the next round?

Before we get into the match-ups. Some scumbag voted for Melo to be the MVP and cost LeBron the first unanimous MVP in NBA history. Fuck this guy. LeBron is other-worldly right now. Yes, the MVP award doesn’t have clearly defined parameters. Yes, the Heat without Bron would be better than the Knicks without Melo. Yes. But you know what? LeBron is the reason the Heat won 27 straight. LeBron makes all his teammates better. LeBron leads his team in 5 statistics. LeBron has 10 different ways he can impact the game and contribute to the win. LeBron is the reason the Heat strike fear in every team in the league. LEBRON JAMES IS WHY THE HEAT WILL WIN THE TITLE THIS YEAR. Melo doesn’t even tick one of this boxes. Eat a dick MVP voter who doesn’t deserve his shitty name to be mentioned.

Anyway…

Bulls v Nets: Last week I said that Game 6 could be something special. Then Hinrich and Deng were ruled out and I was already looking into tickets to Game 7. It didn’t come that easy though. The Bulls displayed incredible will to try win that game and almost did. No way they’d do that again on the road though. Game 7′s down the road from where you live are rare so I scooped me up some sick seats at Barclays for the last dance. The energy and anticipation of the home crowd was something else. The Nets crowd was always a little timid throughout the season I thought. I chalked it up to the lack of emotional investment in the new relationship. Game 7 was another ball game. As was the case all series, the Bulls just came out with more intensity and just straight wanted it more than the Nets did. It’s been amazing to see the Bulls play like their lives depended on it. Even being down so many key players they lived the Thibs mantra “We have enough to win”. The Nets have plenty of deficiencies (like Lopez being allergic to rebounding) but they’re still solid. The Bulls were just amazing though.

Bulls v Heat: Real quick. Even though the Bulls beat my adopted Nets, I’m on their bandwagon for an upset against the Heat. Game 1 just had that juggernaut of heart rolling on. No Deng, no Hinrich, no problems. Gonna be an interesting series. A nice consolation prize would be seeing Joakim Noah cry after the Bulls lose though. (Heat in 6)

Knicks v Celtics: Knicks weren’t losing that series but it was really scary for Knicks fans if they think they can beat the Heat. It was a roller coaster of emotions when the Celtics went on that 20-0 run in game 6. Every bar in Manhattan was silent and at least for a few minutes we got one last glimpse of the old Celtics. Rest in Peace.

Knicks v Pacers: Did I say Knicks fans should worry about the heat? How bout the Pacers! Another poor shooting night by Melo and J.R. in game 1 following the Celtics series and that was it against the BIG Pacers. Knicks just bounced back into the series but home court still belongs to the Pacers and two things happened to win that game for the Knicks: Melo lit it up in the second half and the Pacers had like 600 turnovers. Indiana will tighten that up for Game 3 and Melo has a bum shoulder so I think this series could go either way. Pacers are a beast. They don’t have the scorer but don’t count them out. (Pacers in 6)

Grizzlies v Clippers: Clippers lost 4 straight to the Grizzlies. Has anyone been in touch with L&G lately? I think he’s crying and eating a tub of fat-free ice cream right now

Thunder v Rockets: I’ve already forgotten about this series

Grizzlies v Thunder: Game 1, KD: 35 points, 15 boards, 6 assists and the shot to put them ahead with 11 seconds to go. We are truly blessed as basketball fans to be witnessing the careers of LeBron James AND Kevin Durant at the same time. The Heat are winning the title this year and that’s fine, but the two people I’m watching these playoffs are number 35 and that kid wonder Steph Curry. (Thunder in 7)

Warriors v Spurs: Speaking of Steph Curry… I was a little disappointed with the lack of fight the Nuggets put up in the first round but this speaks to the “Best player in the series” theory that Bill Simmons champions. i.e. The team with the best player in the series usually wins. Steph Curry: Best player in series. Which will make the Spurs series a hell of a lot of fun. He’s gonna be the best guy in this series too, but against the Spurs, especially without David Lee, the Warriors will be going home next week. Not until we see some great games first. Case in point, Game 1. Wow. (Spurs in 6)

Like i said. Eyes open people. Shit is getting real.

That was my girlfriend, after my buddy hit me up to do something soon to which I responded that I’m booked out the next six weeks. Lesson 1, don’t tell your girlfriend you’re busy for the next six weeks. Lesson 2, I’m busy for the next six weeks. Get used to it.

Oh, how things can change in only a few days. I had most of this written up at what was actually one week into the playoffs but my laptop died and took a few days to salvage. Needless to say there were plenty of changes to my week one “recap” (updates in bold).

I’ll preface my recap with this: Nobody cares about the Heat/Bucks, Pacers/Hawks and Lakers/Spurs first round match ups. They suck. Heat swept the Bucks. Spurs swept the Lakers and nobody gives a shit about the Pacers and the Hawks in general. As a proud Laker hater I’m glad they suffered their worst ever playoff loss. Kobe or no Kobe a team with Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol shouldn’t lose by 31 in the playoffs. I am bummed that Kobe got injured though. I’m bummed that Laker fans didn’t taste the Spurs 4-0 dick with Kobe on the court. Lakers were NEVER winning that series.

Also, D Rose never returned to the Bulls. Father time finally caught up with the Celtics. Russell Westbrook and David Lee are out for the rest of the playoffs. Despite all this bad news, week 1.5 was still awesome.

Bulls v Nets: Firstly, shout out to the 2012-13 Rose-less Bulls for getting the 5th seed and pushing a really good Nets team to the brink of Elimination. Kirk Hinrich and Carlos Boozer? Nate Robinson off the bench? Surely the Bulls front office was preparing for a nice lottery pick in the 2013 draft right? Sorry, but coach Thibs had other plans guys.

I went to Game 2 in Brooklyn and it was painful. Watching the home team shoot 35% isn’t fun. Yes the Bulls play good D but they were just missing good looks. At this point it’d be ok to assume it’s just a bad shooting night. Nets have got this. Look who was down 3-1! Game four was unreal. I turned on in the 4th just in time to see Nate drop 23 in the period, including 12 straight during the 14-0 run. The end of the first OT was special too. A terrible shot by Nate (which was a great shot because it went in), sandwiched by two great Joe Johnson (Iso Joe) plays.

The shit thing about this game was that it took 7 hours. “Official” timeouts, reviewing plays, 64 timeouts for each time, 20 second timeouts going for 3 minutes. Get your shit together NBA. I saw more Cliff Paul ads than basketball plays. Make the game better for the fans, cut out all the lucrative advertising breaks because you’re already worth billions. Please! (Meanwhile, on the other side of town, L&G is BURNING that he can’t watch his Clippers because the NBA doesn’t have it’s own network to broadcast games on during clashes… oh wait, they do. Get your shit together NBA)

I had at this point assumed the Nets season would end at Barclays in Game 5 so I got myself some sick seats within spitting distance of Kris Humphries. Brook Lopez and Deron Williams went to town. Hell of a game to watch. The two things that I noted was that when Deron or Joe Johnson are off the court, CJ Watson is guarding Nate Robinson and he can’t do that for shit. That was causing a lot of issues for the Nets. Also, Bulls almost won that without Hinrich. When Captain Kirk gets back for Game 6 it will be a very interesting finish to this dance. Both sides are going to show up. This could be the game of the series.

Knicks v Celtics: It’s pretty awesome to feel all the buzz about the Knicks here in NYC. They really are a good team this year and the city is finally like a proud father that isn’t happy until they see excellence. It’s just too bad that there’s a bunch of dudes in South Florida just waiting to slap the Knicks up the side of their heads with their giant dicks. But I’m getting way ahead of myself. Had to wipe a bunch of nonsense out of my recap since the Celtics went all 2008 on the Knicks. The first three games weren’t even worth writing about. The one thing I did originally write was that the only chance Boston has to win this series is if they win game 4 and then JR comes out pissed that he was suspended and then in game 5 plays like the old JR… well, look what happened. That being said, the Celtics played 7 guys, shot 55% from beyond the arc and Melo/JR absolutely stank. Game 6 could be good but there’s no chance the Knicks lose this series. There’s also NO CHANCE the Knicks beat the Heat. Not after what we just saw.

Clippers v Grizzlies: God I love the Clippers. Every little thing about them. Everything except Donald Sterling. I even like Vinny Del Negro and his ability to probably get fired after the Clips don’t win the title this year. Even though they won a franchise record 56 games. The NBA is funny that way. Besides this being a roller coaster series with last second CP3 heroics and 20+ point blowouts, I was absolutely gobsmacked when Jamal Crawford made that four point play and it was the 37th of his career. 37 four point plays! WHAT THE FUCK! Also, CP3 and Blake Griffin are absolute studs. Their commercials are awesome. If you don’t get them in Oz, look them up. (Disclaimer: L&G is a ride or die Clippers fan. He’d fire my ass if I wrote ill of the Clips). Sadly I haven’t watched one of these games. I’m sure you could tell I totally phoned in that series recap. THERE’S JUST SO MUCH EFFING BASKETBALL TO WATCH! Clips are in trouble though. If they lose game 6 I don’t think we’ll be hearing from L&G for a while.

Thunder v Rockets: I was incredibly excited for the James Harden Revenge Series but instead it has become my nightmare. That Westbrook injury broke my heart. The Heat were very deserving of their title last year as they will be this year but this will be two asterisks for them. Lockout season asterisk last year and an express lane asterisk this year. Rajon Rondo out. Derrick Rose out. Danny Granger out. Russell Westbrook out. San Antonio spurs old. Besides Knicks fans, who in their right minds would’ve said the Knicks would be the only team with a remote shot at beating the Heat. Now all I can look forward to is watching Durant average 40+ points a game for the rest of the playoffs. That would be sick actually. Unsurprisingly the Rockets managed to get one back on the Russ-less Thunder but I would’ve thought the Beard to have more than 15 points in that win. As I write this, the Rockets have just wrapped up their second series win off the back of a more Harden-esque night with 31 uber-efficient points. Thunder hacking Asik and sending him to the line is literally the worst thing in basketball. Ever. Much like the Knicks-Celtics series, these two Rockets wins don’t mean much for the series. Thunder will get up but it highlights what we already know. A Russ-less Thunder ain’t a contender.

Nuggets v Warriors: On a less depressing note, how fucking good is this Nuggs/Warriors series? Andre Miller killing it with the old man game and Steph Curry being Steph Curry. I’ve always managed to pick a team each series so I can invest emotionally and experience the elation or heartbreak of a series win or loss. It’s what I love about sports. I can’t separate these guys though. Game one I was cheering on Andre Miller as he carried Denver to that victory while in Game three I was on that Warrior bandwagon so hard that my right thumb is bruised from smacking my hand on the bar so many times. This is by far the most entertaining first round series. Do yourself a favour. I did not expect the Warriors to get up 3-1. Amazing stuff. A good solid game 5 stave off elimination for the Nuggets, even though they lost a big lead. It’s going to be tough to repeat that in Oakland tomorrow. Can’t wait. It’s gonna be a huge game 6. Steph Curry for 40 points. Lets do this.

Enjoy the rest of Round 1. There’s been plenty of good basketball but no Kevin-Garnett-Anything-Is-Possible type moments yet… They’ll come though.

Shawn Carter is a straight up lord, and now that he is moving into athlete management, it pretty much cements his status as a legendary human being. What does this mean? For starters, he needs to sell of his share of the Brooklyn Nets, as it is pretty much a conflict of interest.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Carter has started the process of divesting his small share of ownership with the Brooklyn Nets to extend his Roc Nation Sports representation business into basketball. Although realistically he only owns less than one percent of the Brooklyn Nets, he has been a central public figure in the franchise’s marketing and move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. They basically made out that he completely owned the Nets.

To become a full-fledged, certified agent however, he will unfortunately have to sell his share, as NBA rules mandate that no one individual affiliated with a player representation company can have an ownership stake with an NBA team. All good in the hood for the Jigga-mane  though, as the process is expected to be completed in time for Roc Nation Sports to compete for players entering the June NBA draft.

Perfect work, Jay-Z. I guess you have more problems to deal with now.

Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks (my team, by the way) are having a great season, especially as of late with their win streak at 12 and overall record at 50-26 as of right now. Perfect timing considering the Playoffs are just around the corner, and indeed a massive improvement from last year’s lockout shorted 36-30 season, which saw the rise of Linsanity, Amar’e Stoudemire punching a fire extinguisher case and the Knicks bowing out of the ring hunt after only four playoff games.

It’s a popular jersey.

To top off the so far outstanding season, Anthony now moves ahead of LeBron James in jersey sales, taking out the number one spot based on sales from the NBA Store both online and in New York (that helps) since last November. Here is the official jersey sale list, per NBA.com:

Looking back to when I wrote an article on five awesome NBA jerseys before the season had begun, I had Carmelo Anthony’s singlet at number four and James Harden’s (Thunder) singlet at one. But if was to revisit that topic, I’m going with Anthony at one without thinking twice about it.

Back to the official sale list, Anthony was at number four on last year, so to move straight to numero uno is quite an achievement. And, as already mentioned, jersey sales isn’t the only list Carmelo Anthony has topped. In addition, Anthony is now the NBA’s leading points per game scorer with an average of 28.44 – slightly over taking Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, who is putting up 28.35 points – and incredibly averaging 41.8 points in the last week, not to mention a 50-point game against the Heat.

Well done, ‘Melo. Here’s to hoping my New York Knickerbockers can go all the way, somehow knock of the Miami Heat and win the NBA Championship. With Carmelo Anthony ballin’, J.R. Smith providing punch off the bench and having a career year, Amar’e still to return and Tyson Chandler protecting the rim, I like our (yes, I say our when refer to the team I go for) chances.

The NBA Playoffs begin April 20, so now is the time to cop League Pass if for some reason you haven’t already.

The Louisville Cardinals have won the NCAA National Championship, beating out Michigan 82-76. You may remember them from late last month, when we covered Kevin Ware’s horrific compound leg fracture during their 85-63 win over the Duke Blue Devils. By the power of a certain trap god and the best wishes of PRIMO!, the Cardinals held out during an intense final quarter to finally have the honour of cutting down the nets.

For those of you unfamiliar with the practice, college teams who win a touranment traditionally cut down the nets as a souvenir. The practice dates back to 1947 and was started by coach Everett Case from North Carolina State, who won the Southern conference. Questions were raised as to whether Kevin Ware would participate in the ceremony, still being in recovery after his devastating accident, but the net was lowered by the NCAA to allow Ware his turn.

Some say it’s the merely the angle of the photo but Kevin’s arms are actually this long.

Ware was up and about on crutches after a two hour surgery in which a titanium rod was set in his leg, following the fateful Duke game. He was no doubt the Louisville Cardinals biggest inspiration for the championship win. The Cardinals have been unstoppable this year, going 19 from 20 and 16 in a row; the lone exception being the 26th of January against Notre Dame, which went to five overtimes anyway. In an all-round remarkable game, Louisville coach Rick Pitino became the first coach to win the national championship with two teams, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame the morning of the game. On court, Luke Hancock was declared the Final Four MVP- the first bench player in the history of the NCAA to win the title.

Jay-Z originally founded Roc Nation in 2008 as an entertainment company, with the likes of J. Cole, Rita Ora, Williow Smith and more talented rappers, songwriters, producers, DJs and audio engineers joining the label.

Now, Hov and Roc Nation have, as he explained, “natural progressed” into sports, which seemed inevitable, especially considering Jay’s love and involvement in sport already.

“Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years,” said Jay-Z, according to Life+Times.

Roc Nation Sports has partnered with Creative Artists Agency and will surely look to continue to grow and add more athletes to the brand, first focusing on baseball and then eventually football and basketball, as Jay-Z plans to become a certified sports agent.

Because Jay-Z is a minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets, however, he would not be able to represent any NBA players unless he gave up his share of the team. So don’t expect LeBron James to join Roc Nation Sports anytime soon. Although I’m sure LeBron would join in a heartbeat if Jay does indeed decide to let go of the Nets.

LeBron James did not sign with the Cavs. In fact, he isn’t a free-agent for another year. That didn’t stop the a Cleveland newspaper to have a little April Fools’ Days fun, though.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer pranked, or more so, tried to prank everyone this April Fools’ Day, with a big headline stating, “LEBRON RE-SIGNS WITH CAVS.” Followed by smaller print reading, “BOY, ARE YOU GULLIBLE! NOW YOU CAN HAVE SOME FUN WITH OUR APRIL FOOLS’ HEADLINES.”

Seriously, those who read this and even for a second thought LeBron James had actually re-signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers part-way through the current NBA season is, as the Plain Dealer describes, gullible.

However, this April Fools’ Day joke began to make me think… Will LeBron James ever return to play in Cleveland? And if he wanted to, would Cavs’ owner Dan Gilbert – who expressed his disapproval of LeBron after he left the organisation – welcome him back?

Well, I’m sure Gilbert would welcome him back. LeBron is only the best basketball player and arguably best athlete in the world. So yeah, Gilbert would (or should!) have no problem with a return. But for LeBon to come back after all that went down when he made the decision to sign with the Miami Heat… I just can’t see it happening. An interesting storyline nonetheless when LeBron’s contract in Miami comes to and end.

Louisville Cardinals guard Kevin Ware has suffered one of the most horrific sporting injuries I have ever seen, and I frequent some dark corners of the internet. While attempting to block a jump shot for three from the Duke Blue Devils, the 20 year old landed jarringly on the court, and his right leg collapsed underneath him. I mean, he must have blocked shots like this hundreds of times, but in a freak accident literally everything has broken. In the picture below, you can see his actual bone protruding. Holy shit. For all you amateurs playing at home, that one’s called the tibia.

He’s not walking this one off.

A reporter at the scene tweeted that Louisville players were seen vomiting and crying, which is fair enough as it happened RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR BENCH. The injury was so graphic that CBS only showed a replay twice, before pulling it from their coverage. The game was delayed for nine minutes while Ware was stabilised and put onto a stretcher. Incredibly, Ware called the players over before being taken off the court, telling them to “win it for me”. Louisville went on to win 85-63 in what can only be described as an emotional, bittersweet victory. They now proceed to the final four of the Midwest Regional Finals.

Reports now suggest that surgery has been successful, with a titanium rod inserted into Ware’s leg. After such a devastating injury, it’s hard to say when he’ll recover, with most experts putting it at about a year. We here at PRIMO! can only certify that Kevin Ware is indeed a lord after going this hard in the paint, and wish him the very best with his recovery and the Cardinal’s run at the championship.

EDIT: Unconfirmed reports that Ware refused to go through surgery until he’d finished watching the game. What is this I can’t even, this man staunched an exposed break to watch his team. Damn they breed ‘em tough in the Bronx.

Noted as being “motion sensor basketballs for rapid skills development,” the basketball, which has been created in conjunction with Spalding, allows players to chronicle a variety of data related to dribbling, passing, shooting, and more, all while boasting competition modes for up to four players, specially designed workouts, and analysis of one’s shooting form.

Crazy right?

The ball is powered by internal batteries that can be recharged wirelessly for players who have no time sitting down to charge the ball before a session, which helps a heap for people like me who are lazy as hell.

The 94Fifty Bluetooth basketball is due for release in October, and will be priced at a reasonable $200 USD.

This past weekend (and Monday for those living in Australia) was the NBA’s annual All-Star Weekend.

This time set in Houston and held at the Rockets’ Toyota Centre, All-Star included the Rising Stars Challenge, Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest, Slam Dunk and, of course, the highlight and grand daddy of them all, the All-Star Game. Oh, there was also the Celebrity Game and Shooting Stars, but those were sort of lame, and let’s be honest, no one really cares about them.

So, let’s take a look back at the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend. Just like watching it all go down, this is going to be fun.

Rising Stars Challenge

Team Chuck (Charles Barkley) vs. Team Shaq (Shaquille O’Neal). The stage was set. A pool of rookie and sophomore players drafted by both Chuck and Shaq dueled it out until Team Chuck reigned supreme, easily winning the match 163-135. That’s correct, Team Chuck scored 163 points in this one, with 90 of the team’s 163 points coming in the first half. As you would expect by reading the scoreline, there were some impressive offensive plays and players putting their talents to the test. The Denver Nuggets’ sophomore, Kenneth Faried, was the game’s most impressive individual, as he scored 40 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in just 22 minutes of play for Team Chuck. His efforts earned him Rising Star Challenge Most Valuable Player. On the opposing Team Shaq, Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers, who would also go on to compete in the Three-Point Contest and play in the All-Star Game, showcased some impressive handles, going back and fourth with Detroit Piston sophomore, Brandon Knight. Remember Uncle Drew? Irving clearly got the best of Knight, and even managed to break the ankles of the Piston guard, or at least make him fall over in front of him.

Skills Challenge

The Skills Challenge saw Jrue Holiday, Jeff Teague and Brandon Knight from the East, and Damian Lillard, Jeremy Lin and Tony Parker from the West each attempt dribbling, passing and shooting the ball around the obstacle course while being timed. After two rounds, the fastest player to complete all the skills would win, and that player was rookie sensation and Portland Trail Blazer, Damian Lillard. As if this guy isn’t having a good enough season… He’s basically locked up Rookie of the Year, and now he’s the 2013 Skill Challenge champion. Sky is the limit for Lillard.

Three-Point Contest

Competing in the Three-Point Contest was the East’s Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Steve Novak and the West’s Ryan Anderson, Matt Booner and Stephen Curry. Unfortunately for me, Knicks’ Steve Novak didn’t get it done. Novak usually strokes the triple, so I was sure he was going to get it done. I was wrong. No discount double check. Instead, Kyrie Irving continued to impress us all just a day after getting the better of Brandon Knight. Irving shot the ball extremely well, especially in the second and final round – 23 points won it for him. Yeah, he didn’t miss much.

Slam Dunk

For some reason, the Dunk Competition was simply called [Sprite] Slam Dunk. No Competition or Contest needed in the title. But that’s irrelevant. Let’s focus on the actual slam-dunking. From the East, Gerald Green, Terrence Ross and James White, and from the West, Eric Bledsoe, last year’s champ Jeremy Evans and Rising Star Challenge MVP Kenneth Faried. Before any dunking, this comp was going to be good, or at least better than the past few. The lineup was tough – six legit leapers. I wanted Knicks James “Flight” White to win, of course (I’m a Knicks fan for those who still don’t know). But he didn’t. Instead, Terrence Ross and Jeremy Evens move on from round one thanks to the judges and dunked it out in the final round, with Raptors’ Ross taking home the crown. Ross put together some great dunks, including dunking over a kid while going threw the legs, while runner-up Jeremy Evans got us excited when he dunked over a painting of himself dunking over a painting of himself. However, it wasn’t enough. After the judged voted Ross and Evans into the final, the fans spoke and picked the eventual winner – Terrence Ross. All-Star Saturday (Sunday for Australians) was done and dusted, with the West so far on top winning the most team points after each event was finished. Only the All-Star Game remained.

All-Star Game

Many people hate on the All-Star game. Not me, though. I always enjoy it. I know and accept that there is going to be little to no defense played. Well, at least for the first three and a half quarters. I mean, all I really want to see is dunks, a lot of scoring and plenty of banter. This year, the East and West provided just that in their extraterrestrial sneakers. 143-138 was the final score, with the Western Conference winning it. Chris Paul was named MVP for his 20-point, 15-assist game. He did it all. And was really into the game. He hooked up his Clipper buddy Blake Griffin with alley-oop after ally-oop and also racked up 4 steals. Although West teammate Kevin Durant scored 30, CP3 was clearly the best on court. On the losing East side of things, Carmelo Anthony turned up. ‘Melo finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Dwyane Wade had 21 points and LeBron James 19. And then, towards the end of the game, Kobe and LeBron got into it. Let the argument continue. This was awesome. The Black Mamba got right up in The King’s grill to play some D, and let him hear it after blocking one of his shots, which led to a Kevin Durant fast-break dunk. They went at it some more until the final buzzer sounded to finish All-Star weekend. Fun times indeed, especially Kobe vs. LeBron. When it was all said and done, everyone had, or at least appeared to have, a great time. The real half of the NBA season now begins.

Basically, you have Carmelo Anthony, Bernard King, Melo’s Family, NAS and others discuss what it means to play in NYC, and what it means for NYC to have Melo on their team. For a team who has lost a good amount of the last 10 years, expectations seem to be a tad too high it seems, as one of the Knicks commentators stats that if the team loses a regular season game, they are ruthless with how they respond.

It’s crazy that this even happens, considering they have made the playoffs only once or twice in recent years, and when I watched them back in 2010, the stadium wasn’t exactly sold out.

I guess now that Melo is there, the team can rejoice and finally be where they think they deserve to be.

The New York Knick star forward has been through it all, with expectations being absolutely sky high for him to win a title, it has been awesome to see him thrive in such a hostile environment.

The man is carrying the weight of the city on his back, so it is fitting that a three-part web documentary by Jordan Brand titled ‘Playing for The City That Made Me’ has been made for this.

The web documentary highlights Melo’s passion for playing in New York (keeping in mind, that he made his intentions clear from the get-go whilst playing in Denver), as he is actually from Red Hook, Brooklyn. Being so passionate in the way he speaks proves what it means for him to play there, as Melo gives his own perspective on things, such as the pressures involved, as well as the perspectives his family and close friends Bernard King and rapper Nas.

Flynn was drafted in 2009 by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the number six overall pick after putting together a solid collage career at Syracuse.

During his rookie year in the NBA, Flynn played and started 81 games for the Timberwolves, averaging 13.5 points per game, 4.4 steals per game and 2.4 rebounds per game. Flynn even made the All-Rookie Second Team, and was on his way to becoming a big time player in the league.

However, after having hip surgery in 2010, Flynn couldn’t seem to find a starting spot, or even role players spot on any NBA teams. While Flynn did sign with the Detroit Pistons last month, he was later waived before the start of the NBA season.

“A lot of guys get happy with just being in the league [NBA], but not playing,” said Flynn during a recent interview [video below] in Australia.

“I just want to play,” he continued.

Since releasing import point guard, Kevin Breswell, on Monday, the Tigers have made a big move, and have signed the 23-year-old Jonny Flynn in hope of turning their season around.

“I’m not sure who knows me here,” said Flynn. “After Friday they’ll definitely know me here.”

The Tigers are currently second last on the NBL ladder, with their record at 1-4.

Flynn will make his NBL debut this Friday night at Hisense Arena in Melbourne against the fourth placed Adelaide 36ers. The question is, can the former NBA player player turn things around for the Tigers?

Only one team could remain undefeated, and after four quarters, it was the Hawks, capturing a huge 100-67 victory in front of over 4000 excited fans.

Technical difficulties with the scoreboard and shot clock, however, delayed the game, causing frustration for both teams before tip-off.

But once the game finally got underway, it was Wollongong Hawks who took complete control right from the start, going on a 19-0 run during the first quarter to put them up 38-19 after the first 10 minutes of play.

For the rest of the game, the Wildcats were forced to play catch up, but unfortunately for them, the Hawks continued to push the lead out during each quarter thanks to great contribution from multiple players.

“We got schooled by an outstanding team with so much discipline,” said Wildcats coach Rob Beveridge. “Right now, they [Hawks] are the bench mark.”

Adris Deleon and Oscar Forman were exceptionally strong for the Hawks in their win. Deleon put up a game-high 26 points, while Foreman added 21.

“This thing is marathon,” said Hawks coach Gordie McLeod. ”In the NBL, you’ve got to enjoy when you get a win,”

Wollongong now move to first place on the ladder with a 5-0 record heading into next Friday’s matchup in Sydney against the Kings.

“Tomorrow is a start of a new chapter,” McLeod continued.

Perth Wildcats: 67 (Knight 18 points, Hire 7 rebounds, Redhage and Martin 3 assists)

Think about that for a second: There was a litany of skate specific brands throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s that came and went. Brands like Juice, Shorty’s, A-Team and 101… The list goes on. They ran, and dominated the skate scene, then completely disappeared. Nike on the other hand, had the cash backing, and knowhow to not only jump in the scene super late, but also completely take over it. Back then, they signed P-Rod, and people went crazy. Now, to be on the team, you have to be a fuck-off amazing skater to even get a look at.

Just like adidas make their riders travel the world skating, we have here, those crazy cats from the Australian team at Nike SB travelling over to China to rip the shit out of it. The trip was went for a good 15 days, with Shane O’Neill, Alex Campbell and Nick Boserio hitting all urban local spots that include the legendary Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Shanghai all the while showcasing their crazy technical skills in front of onlookers.

It wasn’t Ervin’s night, however, as he only put up 7 points in an 84-66 loss to the Hawks at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre in front of almost 4000 fans.

“You’ve got to tip your hat off to Wollongong, they played great defence,” said Ervin after the loss.

Both teams started off slow in their round three encounter. However, it was the Hawks who took control and pushed ahead by seven in the first quarter thanks to a nice tip-in from Dave Gruber on the buzzer.

The Hawks continued to work on their lead in the second period, with Adris Deleon proving why his nickname is ‘2 Hard 2 Guard’. The point guard from New York got the crowd into the game, dropping dimes, attacking the basket and hitting a big triple to lead the Hawks into half time up 45-30.

“When you can keep a team to 30 points at the half, you’re really giving yourself a chance to lay a foundation,” said Hawks coach Gordie McLeod post-game.

Although Townsville’s Peter Crawford heated up in the third and fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough. Crawford finished 7/14 from the field for a game-high 18 points, but it was Deleon who put up numbers all over the board, with 15 points, 4 assists and 8 rebounds.

Captain of the Hawks, Oscar Forman, also played a big role in the win, ending the game with a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds.

The Hawks now move to 3-0, joining the Perth Wildcats as the only unbeaten team in the NBL thus far. As for the Crocodiles, they are still yet to win a game.

“We have to get better as a team, and it starts in practise,” said Ervin. “You can make every excuse, but we just got to get the job done.”

Townsville Crocodile: 66 (Crawford 18 points, Blanchfield 14 rebounds, Ervin 6 assists)

Wollongong Hawks: 84 (Deleon 15 points, Foreman 15 rebounds, Deleon 4 assists)

William Street’s ‘The Night Parrot’ illuminated patterned King’s colours, purple and gold, where guest walked on a purple carpet into a purple and gold lit room to sit on purple and gold table sets where they were served canapés and drinks (probably coloured purple and gold).

The guest list included several of Australia’s well known names, The Sydney Kings basketball team members and head coach Shane Heal who on the night spoke about the team’s aspirations, expectations and general plans for the 2012/2013 season. The cocktail party included several live performances from Australian artists, music by Sydney Entertainment Centre own’s DJ. Jordan and a nice, heavy take home gift bag stuffed with some of the nights sponsored products.

Sources from this season starter shindig described the event to be impressive and out of all pre-season cocktail nights it’s been rewarded a solid 3 out of 3… points… from behind the paint. Swish.

Saville, who has been playing in the NBL since 1995, put up 21 points, with 15 of his game high coming in the second half. Scoring like such was something Saville was not used to last season.

”It took me three or four games to get to 21 points last season,’’ he said.

It wasn’t an easy win for Saville’s Hawks, though. Led by their new Imports, Darnell Lazare and Corin Herny, the Kings were up by three points going into half time, and maintained the lead for most of the third period until Henry went down with injury and had to sit on the bench for some time recovering.

Henry was tough defensive matchup for the Hawks all night. His speed alone granted him access to ring and made the Hawks have to work hard on D, which was why his brief injury had such impact on the game.

“Corin clearly was attacking the hoop and was very effective, so it would have been nice to have him there,” said Kings shooting guard, James Harvey, post-game.

Without Henry the Hawks took full advantage, and even managed pushed ahead of the Kings by 12 points at one stage in the last quarter. Sydney did, however, rally back when their import point guard retuned to the floor, going on a 10-2 run.

Although in the end it was the Hawks who would close out the game after Saville hit a key free-throw to put the Hawks up by three.

Wollongong’s two new imports, Lance Hurdle and Adris Deleon, were impressive in their debut. Hurdle finished with 10 point and a nice opening alley-oop dunk assisted by Rhys Martin. Deleon, on the other hand, had 12 point and three very impressive dimes.

The Hawks will now head to Cairns next weekend to face the Taipans on Saturday. As for the Kings, they play their first home game in Sydney on Friday night against the Melbourne Tigers.

There is no doubt about it, Ron Artest… I mean, Metta World Peace is a funny dude – whether he’s trying to be or not. Honestly, the stuff this guy says is comedic gold. So, as you would expect, World Peace’s interview game was at its best during the Lakers media day, with the small forward providing plenty of laughter.

Remember media day last year? World Peace was hilarious then as well. When asked about his name change a year ago, he went on to thank Jesus Christ for allowing him to still have teeth. This year, however, Metta covered many topics, of course giving his own spin on things.

Most notably, World Peace explained just how happy he is and, by the sounds of things, he is really happy. So happy he explained that he wouldn’t be unhappy if he was slapped in the face during the time he was interviewed.

World Peace also went on to joke about the ESPN rank, what he got up to during the summer break and his “horrible” rap career. Unlike Stephen Jackson, who spent most of his off-season rhyming, World Peace seems to think he failed at rapping… Much like his singles.

All in all, a hilarious display of commentary from the Los Angeles Lakers’ very own Metta World Peace on media day.

The Wollongong Hawks signed Gary Ervin for the 2010-11 NBL season, which turned out to be a very good decision. Although the Hawks just missed out on the playoffs, Ervin was a star for them, so much so that he was named Most Valuable Player.

During his time in the NBL, Ervin averaged 20.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. However, he won’t be repping the Hawks this season. Instead, Ervin has singed with the Townsville Crocodiles.

The news about Ervin broke just after the Crocodiles recently released their two imports. In addition, the Crocodiles have added another former NBL player in Larry Abney, who has played for the club before.

Both Ervin and Abney are expected to be in the country later this week, but with the NBL season beginning this weekend, it is unknown whether or not they will play in the opening round against the Cairns Taipans on Saturday.

Ervin’s return to Wollongong isn’t all that far off either. The Townsville Crocodiles play the Wollongong Hawks in Wollongong on Saturday, October 21. A must watch game indeed. I do, however, wonder how the Wollongong home crown will treat Ervin? Will they boo him or cheer him? I guess only time will tell.

One thing is for sure, though. Gary Ervin’s return to the NBL proves that the NBL is a strong basketball league and is an attractive destination for quality player like such. A retuning MVP is going to be great for the league. Remember when Corey “Homicide” Williams returned? That was big time.  It sure would be great if he were to come back and play in the NBL, too.

The 2012-13 NBL season officially tips-off this Friday, with four games scheduled and set to be played.

Rather than working out in the gym or at the stadium, San Antonio Spurs’ Stephen Jackson puts in time at the studio. Stak5 has already released a few mixtapes, his Jack of All Trades album is dropping independently soon, and he is set to appear on Full Court Press Vol. 1, an album bringing NBA players and professional rappers together for a good cause.

While sitting down with Power 105.1′s the Breakfast Club, Jackson explained that he’s been working out his whole career, so when it comes to the off-season he takes a break away from basketball to rap.

“I rap… I don’t work out,” Jackson said when questioned about what he gets up to during the off-season.

Jackson then went on to describe that he uses the three weeks of pre-season training camp to get back into shape.

Among other topics, Jackson also shared his thoughts on most other NBA rappers and said they are, well, “wack.”

One thing is for sure, Stephen Jackson is as real as they come. He tells it how it is and doesn’t sugarcoat anything. Plus, he’s a baller. His game is speaks for itself. It certainly doesn’t seem to matter that he doesn’t work out during the off-season.

Oh, Stephen Jackson also busted out a freestyle on the Breakfast Club, too.

Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music team just put out Cruel Summer, the team’s collaborative album that sold over 200,000 units in the first week of its release. MMG and YMCMB have had to move over, as G.O.O.D. Music are now the team to beat in hip-hop.

Being that they’re a team, I thought it would be fun to compare the main member of the group to NBA players. I mean, who doesn’t like NBA, right?

So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at G.O.O.D. Music’s roster, and look at each main member as a NBA baller.

Kanye West

‘Ye is the team captain, the leader, and the man who knows he is legit. Kanye has been around for quite some time and has put out classic album after classic album. But that’s not all. Yeezy has his own Nike sneaker and even debuted his clothing line in Paris. There is no question about it, Kanye West is the Kobe Bryant of G.O.O.D. Music. Heck, he even featured in a mini movie with the Black Mamba.

Pyrex P has been doing it for a while. As a one half of the Clipse with his brother Malice (now called No Malice), Pusha T most notably dropped Lord Willin’ and Hell Hath No Fury, two dope as can be albums. Since then, however, Pusha has gone solo, and has made his mark as an individual artist. Pusha T is probably the most lyrical member of G.O.O.D. Music. Pusha T gets it done and so does New York’s Carmelo Anthony. Thus, Pusha T is Melo.

Big Sean is awesome, “BOI!” His raps, his personality and most of all his ab-libs. “SWERVE!” Big Sean is the coolest member of G.O.O.D. Music. Since signing with Kanye West’s label, Big Sean has quickly risen to be know as a top artist in hip hop. His Finally Famous debut album was legit, as was his recent Detroit mixtape and each of his features on Cruel Summer. So, who is a cool player in the NBA and has recently become a star in the league… OKC’s James Harden.

Chi-Town’s very own, Common, has been in the rap game for years. He’s the veteran of the team. Even before signing with ‘Ye, Common got it done. Although he didn’t appear on Cruel Summer all that much (only one verse), he’s still proudly reppin’ G.O.O.D. Music. I can’t help but to think of Paul Pierce when I think of Common as an NBA player. A loyal veteran who is still at the top of the food chain in his respective craft.

The Cudder! Kid Cudi is an amazing artist, who probably has one of the best voices in hip hop. Cudi likes to do his own thing, and only appeared on Cruel Summer twice, which sort of sucked because I wanted to hear more from him. However, that’s probably because he is currently working on his next studio album, Indicud. Clearly, Cudi does what he wants… Like releasing WZRD, an alternative rock album. Cudi is a funny dude, he’s an awesome artist, but did cop some slack for WZRD. Mr. Rager is Chris Bosh. And despite what some may say, Chris Bosh is awesome, and so is Kid Cudi.

2 Chainz

Believe it or not, 2 Chainz was actually a pretty talented basketball player back in the day. He even played collage ball. 2 Chainz is one of the top rappers at the moment, and so he should be. His mixtape, his many features and his debut album have proven his worth. 2 Chainz is killing it at the moment, and reminds me of Kevin Durant. Plus, Tity Boi is tall and has long arms like KD, too.

CyHi the Prynce

Not too many people know who exactly CyHi The Prynce is, or where he came from for that matter. However, CyHi provided his talented as a featuring artist on Kanye West’s “So Appalled.” His verse on that My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy joint was outstanding. CyHi has been running under the radar with G.O.O.D Music thus far, but with some solid verses on Cruel Summer, expect him to blow up soon – especially when he drops a debut LP. So, which NBA player does CyHi compare to… Joe Johnson, a dominating player, who often goes unnoticed, and even unheard at times. That will probably chance now that he’s in Brooklyn, though.

Teyana Taylor

A newish G.O.O.D. Music member, who has her a lot going for her. Teyana Taylor is the only female artist on the label. But don’t get it twisted, Teyana Taylor holds her own with the men. If her voice doesn’t grab your attention, her personality will. According to the rest of the group, Taylor is also the most fiery member. She’s the Rajon Rondo of G.O.O.D. Music.

Defending champs ‘The Hot Shots’ were out to try their luck at winning the day event two years straight, but this time around, trying to win would be a much harder affair. Teams feel quickly, with the stronger teams proving dominance in the early rounds. This didn’t stop me from heckling Textbook and his teammates throughout the event about his impending loss, even though he had not lost as yet.

At the much-deserved break, the three-point shootout event was held with some of Wollongong’s best going up against bros from Sydney and Canberra. Actually, from what I remember, someone had told me that their were players who flew in specifically for the event itself. Baller commitment is insane, but awesome. I love it. Round after round, three balls fell, but in the end, and proving that Wollongong is on par with anyone else, Wollongongs own Johnny Micallef took it out, proving that the small men can ball just as hard as the bigger bros.

The event everyone was watching out for was up next; with defending champ Alex Beagley stepping to the plate to defend his dunk title. To no surprise, Beagley took an early lead with his aerial acrobatics however, to everyones surprise, Alex was brought back down to earth by an excitingly stupid throwdown by Wollongong Hawks own Luke Jamieson. No one saw that coming. All I remember is the ball getting thrown against a wall/Luke getting airborne/catching-said-ball-to-dunk. That went down a treat with the crowd and judges, and gave him a much deserved win.

The rest of the event was a blur till the finals came around. Actually, that’s not right. PRIMO! magazine’s own Medicine Man was behind the decks, dropping tunes throughout the day with his partner in crime. I can’t remember his name though? He said something along the lines of: “I go for the Memphis Grizzlies” so I laughed, and proceeded to forget who he was. Seeing Medicine Man and partner behind the decks got me thinking: I actually know one of these guys so maybe, he might play a song I like. This quickly prompted me to harass them to drop Waka Flocka’s – ‘Hard In The Pant’.

Did they play it? Yes.

Did the crowd love it? Maybe.

Did L&G lose his shit, and make an ass of his self in the process? 100% Definitely. Oh well, it was one of those moments where you HAD to do it and you know what? I regret nothing.

Onto the finals; It is crazy how these crazy kids can go round after round against stiff competition, and still have energy for the finals. I guess it’s that ‘will to win’ or something. Whatever it was, there was no way I had it, but the team ‘Hairy Bulls’ made up of players Michael John, Ricky Martin and Alex Gollan set their sights on dethroning the defending Hot Shots in a game worth the wait for everyone who stuck around (trust me, believe me when i say that their were still plenty of people hanging around for this).

The game was tight, with big man Phil Jordan getting plenty of ball in the paint, and fresh from his loss in the Dunk Competition and out for vengeance, Alex Beagley dominating with jump shots and three-pointers, sinking shot after shot over the opponents. PRIMO! magazines own Textbook fed his teammates the rock well like a true point-guard, but it came down to Danny Perger, who ended the finals by putting a dager in the Bulls, with a deep three to finish them. Once again, and much to my distaste, the Hot Shots were once again champions. I guess I will have to wait for next year to heckle Textbook for losing.

During New York City’s Fashion Week, Rajon Rondo interned with GQ. While doing so, he learnt a thing or two about men’s fashion, but also how to deliver mail, pick up coffee and all the other jobs interns are made to do.

Reflecting on his job as an intern, Rajon Rondo sat down to talk about the whole experience, referring to most of his tasks as if they were situations in a game of basketball.

As you’ll see in the video at the bottom of the page, it seems as if Rondo’s experience as an intern was a tough one. The Boston Celtics point guard couldn’t even get a taxi home after work. Hilarious! So hilarious Rondo claimed he won’t be back interning with GQ next year, unfortunately.

Nonetheless, it sure is great to see Rajon Rondo and GQ both have a sense of humour.

Now that his intership has come to an end, Rondo can start to focus on the upcoming NBA season, where he will wear a jersey instead of a suit and will be throwing a basketball to his co-workers instead of packages.

Perhaps Russell Westbrook will intern will GQ next year. I mean, his idea of fashion could use some improvement.

5. Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics

Rajon Rondo is one skillful baller, who deserved his own pro-model sneaker (you can read about that here). His handles, his passing ability, his style… The dude is awesome. Even though he might have had beef with Ray Allen towards the end of last season, his jersey is a must have.

That awesome green and white classic Celtics look that has stuck around for years. Don’t even get me started on the three leaf clover on above the players last name.

4. Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks

It’s New York, baby. Of course Carmelo Anthony’s jersey [pictured at the top of the page] is a must have, especially considering the Knicks have updated their uniforms. Last season (and many season before), the Knicks uniforms was fresh, but now… Man, legit is the best way to put it. And the best part, a round neck.

Home or away, I’m rocking Melo at least once a week. Oh, and an Amar’e Stoudemire jersey, too.

3. Kevin Love, Minnesota Timberwolves

Kevin Love is an absolute beast. The dude gets it done in the paint, and can even shoot the three ball rather well. And his jersey… Awesome. Choose the dark blue away jersey, or the black alternate jersey [pictured above]. Either way, K. Love’s singlet should be found in your wardrobe.

Heck, Ricky Rubio’s Timberwolves jersey could probably be on this list too.

2. Deron Williams, Brooklyn Nets

Although the Nets jersey is yet to be officially revealed, you know Jay-Z’s team is going to be swagged out. I mean, Hov did feature on a track called “Swagga Like Us” with T.I., Weezy and Kanye. Plus, the Nets jersey and new home court looks amazing, so I’m confident their jersey will too.

Expect the Nets to officially show off their new uniform soon.

1. James Harden, Oklahoma City Thunder

James Harden is quite possibly the coolest player in the entire NBA. The beard along makes Harden a straight up legend. Tha and he did party in a cowboy hat recently. Harden’s jersey is certainly going to be a popular one, particularly after he was a member of Team USA. But seriously, how cool does the blue jersey look? The number 13, too?

Fear the beard… And the blue away jersey.
